This February, the Kingston Public Library gallery
will feature an exhibit of oil paintings by Kingston resident Marie
Kaiser. Included in this exhibit, scenes from Colorado await you with
views of the mountains, a forest of Aspen trees and the ruins of an
old miner’s cabin. Marie’s love of flowers can be appreciated
when you view “Poppies”, “Summer” and “Hibiscus”.
In this exhibit, Marie is not the only one with a love of flowers. Here
in the paintings “Spring Time” and “Hannah’s
Porcupine”, you will see a bear smelling white flowers and the
porcupine smelling a rose.
Originally from Colorado, Marie and her family moved to Kingston
in 1987 for her husband’s work. She has always loved art and
a desire to express herself in different mediums. She says, “art
moves me and is important to have around me. It has the ability to
brighten my day and lighten my cares”. She paints primarily
in oils, but looks forward to working in watercolors, acrylics and
pastels.
Marie joined Violet Berry’s Council On Aging Oil Painting
Class last year. There were several of her pieces included in last
November’s exhibit of the works by the Council On Aging oil
painting class.
"As a new artist, it’s exciting for me and my
family to have my paintings shown at the Kingston Library."
There will be a reception held for Marie on Saturday, February
4 from 2 to 4pm in the Children’s Activities Room. Everyone
is welcome to attend.
