The library Art Committee was formed
in 1997 to organize and create new exhibits each month. Our goal is
to give exposure to local artists and to represent their talents and
ideas. The committee members are volunteers from the community who
have generously given their time and talents to make each exhibit
an important part of your library experience.
The committee is committed to supporting
artists of all ages. Each year we have encouraged the local schools
to share the artwork of their students. We have created special exhibits
involving families for both mothers and fathers Day. Our biggest project
was the creation of the Jones River Mural which is now permanently
on display at the Kingston Intermediate School. This effort was not
only achieved by the members of the Art Committee, but became a community
wide project with the involvement of many artists, and the support
of many local businesses and individuals.
