Friends of Kingston's Heritage
In the spring of 2002, the Friends of Kingston's Heritage was established
as a non-profit entity. The Friends, a volunteer group comprised of members
of the Frederic C. Adams Heritage Center Development Committee, members
of the Kingston Historical Commission, and individuals interested in preserving
Kingston's history and its historical places. The Friends will work closely
with town committees and officials to provide supplemental funding for
the renovation of the Frederic C. Adams building and the preservation
of Kingston's heritage.
Efforts are currently underway to repair the exterior of the building
to make the building weather tight. The interior will be brought back
to its original splendor with the vaulted ceilings and the reconstruction
of the Trustee's Room, which currently houses the stairway.
Once the work on the building is complete, the upper level will house
the Frederic C. Adams Heritage Center and the lower level will have a
meeting room with a performance area. There will also be a terrace on
the south side of the building that will be available for outside activities.
To make this plan a reality we need your help and financial support.
We invite you to become a member of the Friends of Kingston's Heritage
and help preserve a National Register of Historic Places landmark and
Kingston's history for future generations.
