 The Friends of the Kingston Public Library

The Friends of the Kingston Public Library are a group whose purpose is preserving and strengthening the Library by
           Creating an awareness of the Library and its services
           Generating local and state support of public libraries
           Working with the Library Trustees to meet short and long term goals for the Library
           Supplementing library programs through community outreach, volunteerism and fundraising

      Some past library programs made possible by the work of the Friends of the Library:
            Acquisition of supplemental library materials
            Purchasing furnishings and equipment for the Library
            Holiday celebrations
            Vacation programs
            Performances during the Summer Reading Program
            Discount museum passes
            Spring Book-and-Bake Sale and Fall Book Sale

The Friends of KPL meet the first Friday of every month
at 1:00 p.m in the Meeting room.

All are welcome.

We are looking for new members! If you have an interest in the library and the community as a whole we would appreciate your time and talents! We’re looking for new ideas and suggestions. The Friends of the Library Nook

  • The friends are currently selling beautiful NEW two- tone tote bags in either blue or red at the very reasonable cost of $6. Totes may be purchased right at the front desk.
  • If you’re interested in becoming a friend of the library, forms are also available from library personnel at the Circulation desk.
  • Look for more info on the activities of the Friends on PAC-TV.
  • And don’t forget to donate your used books to the library. They will go into circulation if they’re new titles, or they will be set aside for one of the two book sales which will occur in early May and early October.

The Friends of the Kingston Public Library are pleased to sponsor a year round book sale cart.  Help your local Library by stopping by to browse for exciting new best-sellers, fresh copies of old favorites, children's books and videos, and books on tape.

Prices are hard to match: $1.00 hard covers, $0.50 paperbacks, $1.00 videos and books on tape. Children's books: $0.50 hardcover, paperback and board books $0.25, $1.00 videos.  The cart is located near the Circulation Desk.  Happy shopping!

Friends Sponsor Museum Passes!

Thanks to the Friends of the Kingston Public Library, the Library is able to offer passes to the following Museums: the Museum of Science, the Boston Children's Museum, the New England Aquarium, Plimoth Plantation, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Massachusetts ParksPass, the Roger Williams Zoo, the South Shore Natural Science Center and Zoo New England.
