About Kingston

Preserving the heritage of the community is an important role of the public library. Our Local History Room strives to enhance the understanding of Kingston’s history through services we offer and items from our Special Collections such as essays, letters, diaries, photographs, and maps detailing the history of Kingston. This page connects you to people, places, and events that have become a part of Kingston’s history.

It is the Library’s intent to provide accurate local history information. However, it is not possible for the Library to completely verify the accuracy of individual articles obtained from a variety of sources. The content of the articles is the responsibility of the individual author. If you believe that factual statements in a local history article are incorrect and you can provide documentation, please contact the Archivist at history@kingstonpubliclibrary.org.

Reproductions of materials, including photographs and maps, may be obtainable. Additional information regarding reproductions is available by contacting the Library at 781-585-0517 or email history@kingstonpubliclibrary.org.
