South Shore Locavores

South Shore Locavores going offline

After a great eight-year run, the South Shore Locavores sessions are ending. The November Pie Marathon was our last formal program.  The group continues on an informal basis through a Facebook group and a mailing list. The Library and the publishers of edible South Shore & South Coast magazine will continue to support events and programs. If you are interested in organizing an event, please get in touch with Sia Stewart at kilib@kingstonpubliclibrary.org.

News from the November 9th Pie Marathon

For the fourth year in a row, a group of volunteers gathered at the Kingston Council on Aging on Nov. 9 to make 120 apple pies and 23 apple-cranberry crisps for families served by the Greater Plymouth Food Distribution Center.

We are grateful to Trucchi’s Supermarkets for underwriting some of the costs of this program and South Shore Organics for donating apples as well as a van to transport the pies.
