Round Top is the sandy mound through which the Duxbury railroad track runs, south of Miramar. It has been said that the long, low ridge, really a glacial moraine, which begins in the Evergreen Cemetery and of which Ridge and Castle Hills are a part, continues across Blackwater Pond as a definite ridge under water, and that a man or tall boy can by using caution, walk across the pond on this narrow ridge with deep water and thick ooze on either side. On the north side of the pond the ridge continues into Duxbury.
