Few things in life are as comforting as snuggling up in a warm pair of PJs and listening to a story. Unfortunately, for many children across Massachusetts living under financial hardship, this comfort is out of reach. The Kingston Public Library is committed to helping to solve this problem by making sure more children have access to warm, comfortable pajamas. Teaming up with the Boston Bruins, Cradles to Crayons, Wonderfund of Massachusetts, the Department of Children and Families, and other local organizations, the Library is collecting new pajamas for children who live in low income or homeless situations.
Over the last 11 years, the Boston Bruins PJ Drive has raised thousands of dollars, and given thousands of PJs to families in need. This year, with a goal of 13,000 new PJs, the drive is poised once again to help thousands of children across the state. To reach this goal, the help of all communities in Massachusetts is needed. In years past Kingston residents have shown their kindness by contributing generously to this drive.
The drive runs from February 1st to March 15th. Those interested in making a donation can drop off their new PJs at collection stations at the Kingston Public Library, Town Hall, Council on Aging, Fire Department, and the Recreation Department. With the help and support of Kingston residents, thousands of children across Massachusetts can have access to a warm set of PJs, something no kid should be without.
