Non-Stop is a Science Fiction classic about a tribe that has long ago forgotten their origin story. About 23 generations ago, to be exact. Could they really be on a spaceship traveling through the cosmos to who-knows-where, or is that just a silly old myth?

You can find out what happens when you borrow the eBook from Hoopla. There are no waiting lists and it's free with your Kingston Public Library card. Check it out today or check something else out!

"Your support this year has helped us continue to serve the pet communities of Massachusetts despite the ongoing pandemic.
This year, over $17,000 was distributed to save lives through our Stray Animal Program, nearly 200 hungry pets were fed through our donation to the Pet Food Pantry Task Force, and over 70 first responders were trained in basic pet first aid.
Help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 this giving season by making a tax-deductible donation. With your help, we can continue to save animals in your community and beyond." - MVMA Charities <3

So wonderful!! And I’d like to just take a minute to thank David Gilmore and the Kingston Collection crew. They have been extraordinary in accommodating the space needs of so many over the last several months. Many groups (and town meetings) would not have had continuity without the generosity and flexibility of the Kingston Collection. Happy Holidays!!

It’s almost Town Meeting Time

Town Meeting begins at 8:00 am on Saturday, August 8. As of July 27, the venue is the Kingston Collection, 101 Kingston Collection Way, in the space next to the movie theater,  formerly occupied by K1 Speed.

mall map with town meeting space hightlightedKingston’s Town Meeting is run according to Town Meeting Time: A Handbook of Parliamentary Law, by the Massachusetts Moderators Association.

You can borrow a copy from KPL and other local libraries, or read it  online at the Internet Archive (account required, but it’s free).

Volunteer roles

These are our current and upcoming opportunities for volunteers.

Greeters

Greeters will be scheduled for 2-hour shifts and will be stationed near the Library entrance.

We will train you to

  • welcome the public back to the Library
  • let people know what to expect and what’s required
  • monitor the number of people entering and leaving the building so we stay within occupancy limits
  • answer routine questions or refer questions to us
  • direct people to the right staff member or area

Storytime Readers and Presenters

Library programs are now online, both live on Zoom and as prerecorded videos. We’ll work with you to coordinate scheduling, solve technical issues, and promote your program.

We hope before long to resume offering programs in person.

Storytime Readers

Our first priority is for readers to create online storytimes for children from preschool to grade 2. Storytimes run for 30 minutes.

Presenters

Are you interested in creating other programs? We know there are many talented people in Kingston, and we invite you to propose a program for any age. You could teach a craft or a skill, or share your interests with the community.
