The Kingston Public Library’s Summer Reading Program has started! This program is for children entering K through 6 in the fall and will run until August 15. When you sign up, you’ll get a goodie bucket and your choice of a free book! Then, when you complete your book bingo or 4 activities online you can choose another free book! We will have a list of book titles to give away in the coming days, and we’ll be in touch soon when your goodie bucket is ready. Your goal is to read 900 minutes by August 15.
Participants in this years program can record their reading online through Beanstack, or by using a paper log that they can pick up at the library. This year The Kingston Public Library Foundation will be donating money to the Kingston Animal Shelter based off our reading minute totals, so make sure to log your reading!
To sign up for the summer reading program visit www.kingstonpubliclibrary.org. If you have any questions please call Mr. Mike at 781-585-0517 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Imagine Your Story Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Kingston Public Library, the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and the Boston Bruins.
Use this form to request library materials, get help with holds, or have a staff member choose something for you.
On July 2, we founds some request forms in the dreaded spam folder. We’re pretty sure we’ve fixed it, but…
If you submit a curbside form and don’t hear from us within 3 days, please call us at 781-585-0517 and we’ll straighten it out.
Thanks for your patience.
“Sharks To Parks” begins with a presentation on predator/prey relationships using our mounted 7 1/2 foot long gold hammerhead shark named Bruce (yes, a real shark we caught fishing off of Florida 40 years). We then segue into a photography-based presentation showing all of the animals, both on land and underwater that live in and around the parks of Kingston. These include White tail deer, coyote, red fox, groundhog, chipmunk, cottontail rabbit, gray squirrel, etc. Underwater photos show Striped bass, Flounder, River herring, Rainbow smelt, Large and Smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed, bluegill, chain pickerel, yellow perch, etc.”
